What features are available with Connected Car on Alarm.com?

Overview

With Connected Car, you can use the Alarm.com Customer app to follow the position of your car, keep an eye on its diagnostic status, and get warnings for things like speeding and towing. Also, you have 24/7 awareness even when the car is parked and the engine is off thanks to the Car Connector's dedicated cellular connection and backup battery.

Self-Installation

Ready to utilise the Connected Vehicle from Alarm.com? You may install the Automobile Connection by following the step-by-step instructions in this manual. After the Car Connection is calibrated, you may monitor engine status, track the position of the car, and evaluate fuel economy directly from the Alarm.com mobile app.

Alarm.com Places

Based on where your car is, connected cars let you automate smart home settings. By allowing Location Services to send notifications when you've forgotten to lock the front door or close the garage, halt video recordings, and change lights and thermostats automatically, you may save time and money.

The Vehicle Connector is immediately added as a Geo-Device when it is connected to the account.

Note: - GPS precision used by connected cars enables smaller Geo-Fences.

Home automation and alerts:

When Alarm.com Locations is set up, the following alerts and home automation features can be created:

  • When the car's geo-device departs or enters a geo-fence, turn on the lights.

  • When the car's geo-device exits or enters a geo-fence, turn on the thermostats.

  • When the car's geo-device is inside a Geo-Fence, pause video rules.

  • If the car's Geo-Device exits a Geo-Fence without locking the front door, securing the garage door, or activating the security system, send notifications.

Vehicle monitoring notifications

With a connected car, you can keep an eye on the whereabouts, diagnostics, and behaviour of your car. You'll get alerts regarding car maintenance, unforeseen movement, and more when you configure notifications! Even when the automobile is parked and the engine is off, connected car offers ongoing awareness and beneficial information.
