When an alarm is triggered at your home or business, every second counts—and so does every detail. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Alarm Recap, a new feature coming soon to the Alarm.com app that helps you stay informed, prepared, and in control.
Whether you're at home, at work, or on the go, Alarm Recap gives you a clear picture of what happened before, during, and after an alarm event—right from your mobile device.
What Is Alarm Recap?
Alarm Recap is an intuitive, at-a-glance summary designed to help you quickly understand the key details of a recent alarm. Available shortly after the alarm event occurs, it can be accessed directly from the Home dashboard or by tapping the alarm event in your Activity timeline within the Alarm.com app.
With Alarm Recap, you can:
See what triggered the alarm
Know who disarmed the system
View relevant video clips and camera-triggered events
Review system activity, monitoring station actions, and tamper/malfunction events
Gain insights that can help reduce false alarms and increase preparedness
How to Use Alarm Recap
Accessing Alarm Recap is easy:
Open the Alarm.com app (iOS version 5.9.7+ or Android version 5.7.6+).
From the Home screen, tap Alarm Recap.
Or go to the Activity tab, select the alarm event, then tap Alarm Recap.
You’ll get a complete snapshot of:
The exact sensor that triggered the alarm (e.g. “Front Door”)
Camera footage (e.g. person detected by the doorbell)
The user who disarmed the system
Timeline of events before, during, and after the alarm
Why Alarm Recap Matters
Having access to a detailed summary after an alarm can bring peace of mind and actionable clarity. Alarm Recap allows you to:
